It has secure access features such as federated and multi-factor authentication, scalable pay-as-you-go pricing, use of global AWS zones for high availability, and efficient VPN traffic rerouting. AWS VPN comprises two services: AWS Client VPN, used by remote workers for accessing AWS and on-site resources; and AWS Site-to-Site VPN, that creates encrypted links between your locations and AWS resources.

AWS VPN bills per VPN connection-hour to your Amazon VPC and rounds up partial hours. Regular AWS data transfer fees apply for data conveyed through the VPN connection. Terminating the VPN connection halts charges. Enabling VPN logs incurs no extra costs, but standard Amazon CloudWatch service fees apply. For accelerated Site-to-Site VPN connections, additional hourly charges for two Global Accelerators per VPN connection and Data Transfer Out Premium apply.
