AWS Lake Formation pricing has three components - Storage API, Governed Tables, and the storage optimizer. The Storage API charges per byte scanned, rounded up to next MB with a minimum of 10MB; costs can be less using file formats like Parquet and ORC. Governed Tables charges are based on the number of tracked metadata files, relevant API calls, and data processed by the storage optimizer. The storage optimizer charges per byte processed for reconfiguring Governed Tables.
