About Amazon VPC

About Amazon VPC

Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) allows the launching of AWS resources in a custom virtual network. Users can manage IP range, subnets, route tables, and network gateways. It allows the creation of public-facing subnets for web servers, with backend systems in private subnets. It enhances security for Amazon EC2 instances and can work with AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Private Link, AWS Network Firewall, AWS VPN, and NAT gateway.

Amazon VPC pricing

Amazon VPC is free, however, optional features incur usage-based charges for control, connectivity, monitoring, and security. Other AWS services like EC2 are payable separately. Charges apply per VPN connection-hour if VPC is linked to a corporate data center via VPN. Usual AWS rates are charged for data transfer over VPN. If a NAT gateway is established in a VPC, "NAT Gateway-hour" charges with additional data processing fees apply.
